  • NatroVital Violet Leaf

    NatroVital Violet Leaf - 100ml Alcohol-Free Tincture

    • Violet Leaf (Viola odorata), also known as Sweet Violet, has a long history of use for the lungs and respiratory system, lymphatic congestion and swollen glands. It has traditionally been used for coughs, bronchial irritation and mucus that is difficult to clear, while also having an important place in herbal medicine when lymph glands become enlarged, tender or congested.

The leaves naturally contain mucilage, which helps coat and soothe the lining of the throat and airways. Violet Leaf has also traditionally been used to help loosen stubborn mucus, making it easier to bring up and clear from the chest. This combination makes it particularly suited to coughs where the airways are irritated but there is also congestion that needs to move.

Violet Leaf is also a recognised traditional lymphatic herb, used when lymph glands become swollen, tender or congested. Herbalists have traditionally used it where glands stay enlarged, feel sore to touch or become noticeable around areas such as the neck, under the jaw, in the groin area or in under the armpits.

Energetic qualities: In traditional herbal medicine, Violet Leaf is considered cooling and moistening. In practical terms, this makes it particularly suited to tissues that feel hot, dry, tight, irritated or swollen.

NatroVital Violet Leaf provides this gentle traditional herb as a concentrated, alcohol-free liquid extract. Using Violet leaves, vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water, it offers a simple way to take Violet Leaf without alcohol, artificial ingredients or unnecessary additives.

How NatroVital Violet Leaf is Made

We begin with Violet leaves and use an alcohol extraction process to draw out the broad range of compounds naturally present within the herb. Violet Leaf contains mucilage together with naturally occurring flavonoids, phenolic compounds, saponins, salicylates and other plant constituents.

Once extraction is complete, the alcohol is gently removed under vacuum at low temperatures. This allows us to remove the extraction alcohol without subjecting the herbal concentrate to prolonged high heat.

The concentrated extract is then blended with vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water, creating an alcohol-free liquid herbal extract that retains the compounds drawn from the Violet leaves during extraction.

Violet Leaf occupies an interesting place in traditional herbal medicine because it combines two qualities that do not always occur together. It has historically been used to encourage movement through congested lymphatic tissues while also soothing areas that feel dry, hot or irritated. This makes it quite different from stronger, more stimulating lymphatic herbs.

Unlike capsules and powders containing bulk dried leaf material, our liquid herbal extracts contain the constituents drawn from the herb during extraction. This provides a concentrated preparation without synthetic binders, coatings, fillers or bulking agents.

Locally Made with Integrity: Every bottle of NatroVital Violet Leaf is made here in Australia in small batches. As a small, independently owned business, we control the extraction and manufacturing process ourselves, allowing us to know exactly what goes into every bottle.

Read our Frequently Asked Questions for dosage information, traditional uses, common combinations and answers to the questions we're most often asked in clinic.

    • â—„What is the recommended dosage for NatroVital Violet Leaf?
The daily adult dose is 5 mL, divided into two serves of 2.5 mL — one in the morning and one in the evening. One mL is approximately 20 drops. Add each dose to a small glass of water or juice, drink immediately, and swirl the glass to ensure any remaining liquid is also consumed. Dosages may vary depending on individual needs and practitioner guidance.
â–¼What We Often Combine with NatroVital Violet Leaf in Clinic

Violet Leaf can be combined with other NatroVital herbs and formulas depending on the area being supported:

      • When swollen or congested lymph glands are the main concern: Cleavers. Cleavers has a strong traditional association with the lymphatic system and works well alongside Violet Leaf when swollen or congested glands are prominent.
      • When coughs, chest congestion or difficult-to-clear mucus are the main concern: Breathe Easy. This formula contains respiratory herbs including Mullein and Elecampane, making it a good companion when Violet Leaf is being used primarily for the lungs and airways.
      • When lymphatic congestion occurs as part of a broader need for cleansing and elimination: Blood Cleanse.

The most appropriate combination depends on whether Violet Leaf is being used mainly for swollen lymph glands, respiratory congestion or as part of broader lymphatic and cleansing support.

â—„Is Violet Leaf the same as Violet Flower?

They come from the same plant, Viola odorata, but they are different parts of the plant and have not always been used in exactly the same way.

Both the leaves and flowers have a history of use for dry and irritated respiratory tissues. Violet Leaf, however, became particularly associated in Western herbal practice with the lymphatic system, swollen glands and skin complaints, while the fragrant flowers have featured more prominently in traditional syrups, infusions and preparations for coughs and irritated respiratory passages.

â–¼Why choose NatroVital over other supplement brands?

NatroVital is a proudly Australian-owned and operated company founded by Greg Newson — a qualified naturopath, herbalist and nutritionist with over 20 years of clinical experience. Our range was developed to provide concentrated herbal extracts without the synthetic fillers, binders, flavours and unnecessary additives commonly found in supplements.

What is left out matters just as much as what goes in. NatroVital Violet Leaf contains, vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water, with the alcohol used during extraction removed before the finished product is bottled.

Our herbal extracts are produced in small batches at our Australian facility, giving us direct control over the herbs, extraction process and ingredients used in every bottle.

It contains no alcohol in the finished product and no artificial flavours, colourings, sweeteners or preservatives. â—„Are there any contraindications for using NatroVital Violet Leaf?

Violet Leaf (Viola odorata) has a long history of use as a food and medicinal herb, but detailed modern safety and interaction data for concentrated Violet Leaf extracts remain limited.

Salicylate sensitivity: Viola odorata contains naturally occurring salicylate compounds. People with a known sensitivity or allergy to salicylates should therefore use Violet Leaf with caution.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: There is insufficient reliable safety information for concentrated therapeutic doses of Violet Leaf during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Medication interactions: Specific clinically significant interactions with Violet Leaf have not been well established. If you are taking prescription medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist before using Violet Leaf.
