  • NatroVital Lotus Flower

NatroVital Wildcrafted Lotus Flower - 100ml Alcohol-Free Tincture

    • Lotus Flower (Nelumbo nucifera), also known as Sacred Lotus, has been valued for thousands of years in both traditional herbal medicine and spiritual traditions throughout Asia. Beyond its physical uses, Lotus has long been associated with inner stillness, composure, meditation and the ability to remain centred during periods of emotional or mental unrest.

Its symbolism is closely tied to the remarkable way the plant grows. Lotus begins rooted in the dark, murky mud beneath the water, then sends its long stem upwards through the depths until it finally reaches the surface and opens into a magnificent flower above the water. This journey from mud into light has made Lotus a powerful symbol of moving through difficulty without being defined by it. This connection with stillness, reflection and spiritual awakening is why Lotus continues to hold such a strong place in Buddhist and Hindu traditions.

Lotus Flower also has a long traditional association with the nervous system and unsettled states of mind. It has been used where stress, restlessness, low mood or difficulty switching off leave a person feeling mentally wound up or emotionally unsettled. This fits naturally with the traditional image of Lotus as a plant of stillness and composure — not simply sedating the nervous system, but helping quiet the internal agitation that can interfere with sleep, emotional balance and the ability to switch off.

Lotus Flower also has a traditional use as a cooling and astringent herb, particularly where there is too much heat, irritation or fluid loss. This has included loose or frequent bowel motions, digestive irritation and situations involving unwanted bleeding, including heavy or prolonged menstrual flow. These uses give Lotus Flower a practical medicinal role that sits alongside its better-known nervous system and spiritual associations.

Energetic qualities: Lotus Flower is traditionally regarded as cooling and astringent. Spiritually, the Sacred Lotus flower has long been associated in Hinduism and Buddhism with purity, divinity and rising above adversity. Its connection with stillness, inward reflection and composure gives Lotus Flower a character quite different from herbs used purely for their physical effects.

NatroVital Lotus Flower is made from wildcrafted Nelumbo nucifera flowers and provides this traditional herb as a concentrated, alcohol-free liquid extract. The finished extract contains Lotus Flower, vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water, without artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners, preservatives or unnecessary additives.

What Does Wildcrafted Lotus Flower Mean?

Wildcrafted means the Lotus flowers are harvested from plants growing naturally in their own environment rather than from a commercially cultivated crop. The flowers develop under the natural conditions of their growing area, rather than being produced through intensive farming.

For NatroVital Lotus Flower, wildcrafting also reflects the traditional character of the herb. Sacred Lotus has grown naturally across wetlands and waterways throughout Asia for thousands of years, and using wildcrafted flowers allows us to work with the plant in a form that remains close to the way it has historically grown and been gathered.

How NatroVital Lotus Flower is Made

We begin with wildcrafted Lotus flowers and use an alcohol extraction process to draw out the naturally occurring constituents held within the flowers. Lotus Flower naturally contains a range of plant compounds including flavonoids, polyphenols and other constituents that contribute to the character of the herb.

Once extraction is complete, the alcohol is gently removed under vacuum at low temperatures. This allows the extraction alcohol to be taken away without exposing the concentrated herbal extract to prolonged high temperatures.

The resulting concentrate is blended with vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water. The end result is an alcohol-free liquid extract containing the constituents drawn from the Lotus flowers during extraction.

Lotus is unusual because different parts of the plant — including the flowers, leaves, seeds, seed embryos, stamens and rhizomes — have developed their own traditional uses. NatroVital Lotus Flower is made specifically from the flower of Nelumbo nucifera, so the extract reflects the traditional use of the flower rather than other parts of the plant.

Unlike capsules and powders containing bulk dried flower material, our liquid herbal extracts contain the constituents drawn from the herb during extraction. This allows Lotus Flower to be taken as a concentrated liquid preparation without synthetic binders, coatings, fillers or bulking agents.

Locally Made with Integrity: Every bottle of NatroVital Lotus Flower is made here in Australia in small batches. As a small, independently owned business, we control the extraction and manufacturing process ourselves, allowing us to know exactly what goes into every bottle.

      Still have questions?

Read our Frequently Asked Questions for dosage information, traditional uses, common combinations and answers to the questions we're most often asked in clinic.

    • ◄What is the recommended dosage for NatroVital Lotus Flower?
The daily adult dose is 5 mL, divided into two serves of 2.5 mL — one in the morning and one in the evening. One mL is approximately 20 drops. Add each dose to a small glass of water or juice, drink immediately, and swirl the glass to ensure any remaining liquid is also consumed. Dosages may vary depending on individual needs and practitioner guidance.
▼What We Often Combine with NatroVital Lotus Flower in Clinic

Lotus Flower can be combined with other NatroVital herbs and formulas depending on whether the main concern is an unsettled nervous system, difficulty switching off, disturbed sleep, digestive irritation or excessive menstrual bleeding:

      • When stress, restlessness or an overactive mind make it difficult to switch off: Passionflower. Passionflower has a strong traditional use for nervous tension, mental overactivity and restlessness, making it a natural companion when Lotus Flower is being used for an unsettled or wound-up nervous system.
      • When emotional stress leaves you feeling overwhelmed, reactive or unable to properly settle: NS Calm. This combination may be considered when emotional strain and nervous-system overload are more prominent than physical tension alone.
      • When difficulty switching off begins interfering with sleep: Sleep Support. Lotus Flower may complement a broader sleep formula when mental agitation or restlessness is carrying through into the evening.
      • When ongoing stress is accompanied by mental fatigue or feeling worn down: Holy Basil. Holy Basil is traditionally used during periods of prolonged mental or emotional stress and offers a different type of nervous-system support to the quieter, more inward character of Lotus Flower.
      • When Lotus Flower is being used for its more reflective or spiritual qualities: Jasmine. Both flowers have a long history of use in Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Lotus is strongly associated with stillness, reflection and rising above adversity, while Jasmine has traditionally symbolised purity, devotion and love, making them an interesting combination where the emotional and contemplative qualities of the herbs are being explored.
      • When loose or frequent bowel motions are part of the picture: Digestive Support. This may be useful when Lotus Flower's traditional astringent action is being used alongside broader digestive support.
      • When heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding is the main concern: Shepherd’s Purse or Lady’s Mantle. Both herbs have a strong traditional association with excessive menstrual flow and make more sense here than treating Lotus Flower as the primary herb for heavy bleeding.

The most appropriate combination depends on why Lotus Flower is being used — whether the focus is nervous tension and difficulty switching off, sleep, digestive irritation or its traditional astringent action.

◄Is Lotus Flower the same as Blue Lotus?

No. They are completely different plants despite both commonly being referred to as “lotus”.

NatroVital Lotus Flower is Nelumbo nucifera, commonly known as Sacred Lotus or Indian Lotus. Blue Lotus is usually Nymphaea caerulea, an aquatic plant belonging to a different botanical genus.

The two plants have different histories of traditional use and should not be considered interchangeable. This is particularly important when purchasing herbal extracts, as the common name “lotus” is sometimes used without clearly identifying the botanical species.

▼Why choose NatroVital over other supplement brands?

NatroVital is a proudly Australian-owned and operated company founded by Greg Newson — a qualified naturopath, herbalist and nutritionist with over 20 years of clinical experience. Our range was developed to provide concentrated herbal extracts without the synthetic fillers, binders, flavours and unnecessary additives commonly found in supplements.

What is left out matters just as much as what goes in. NatroVital Lotus Flower contains wildcrafted Lotus Flower extract, vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water, with the alcohol used during extraction removed before the finished product is bottled.

Our herbal extracts are produced in small batches at our Australian facility, giving us direct control over the herbs, extraction process and ingredients used in every bottle.

◄Is NatroVital Lotus Flower formulated with any preservatives or artificial ingredients?
No. NatroVital Lotus Flower contains wildcrafted Lotus Flower extract in vegetable glycerine and purified Grander water. It contains no alcohol in the finished product and no artificial flavours, colourings, sweeteners or preservatives. It is also made without animal products, dairy, gluten, wheat, soy, nuts, yeast or corn.
◄Is NatroVital Lotus Flower suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians?
Yes. NatroVital Lotus Flower is suitable for both Vegans and Vegetarians. The Lotus Flower extract, vegetable glycerine and purified water used in the finished product are all plant-based.
◄Are there any contraindications for using NatroVital Lotus Flower?

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: There is insufficient reliable safety information for concentrated Lotus Flower extracts during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Although other parts of the Lotus plant have a history of traditional food and medicinal use, this should not be assumed to apply to concentrated extracts of the flower. We therefore recommend avoiding Lotus Flower during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised otherwise by a suitably qualified health practitioner.

Medications: Human studies examining interactions between Lotus Flower and prescription medications are limited. Laboratory research has shown that Lotus Flower extracts can influence platelet aggregation, although the clinical significance of this in people is not known. If you are taking prescription medication, particularly blood-thinning medication, speak with your doctor or pharmacist before using Lotus Flower.

Constipation: Lotus Flower is traditionally regarded as an astringent herb and may not be the best choice where constipation, dry stools or difficult bowel motions are already present, as its astringent action may aggravate these symptoms.
